Hello!
What is a difference between federal and provincial corporation. I would like to register a corporation and cannot decide whether I should go with provincial or federal. I live in Ontario.
Thank you for your help,
Chris Cabrelli
The main difference between the two is that federal incorporation gives your business increased business name protection and wider rights to carry on business. You will be able to do business all across Canada under the same business name, even if some other company is already using a similar name in some province or territory. However, if you registered provincially, you are entitled to operate your business only in that jurisdiction. I would be happy to go over advantages and disadvantages of each type of incorporation and help you register. You can contact me at 416-797-1481
